How to feed, train, groom and understand your dog
Dogs use their ‘voice’ as well as body language to communicate. They bark for joy
or as a warning, or growl when alert to danger. Sometimes they will even howl if
anxious. If you get to know these different moods, you will be well on the way to
understanding your dog.
Tailwagging is the most obvious form of body language for dogs. They wag their tails
because they are happy, like when you come home, or when you fill their bowl with
some yummy food.
Other types of canine body language include standing tall with tail high. This means
the dog is confident. If fearful, their tail might be lowered or tucked under.

Dogs wag their tails to greet other dogs. Sometimes unfriendly dogs stare.
